NEW YORK CITY

One of the biggest reasons we decided to celebrate our wedding in Brooklyn was that it gave us the opportunity to share the city we love with the people we love. After living in New York for the better part of the last decade, we've definitely compiled spreadsheets a mental list of our favorite spots. Check out the map below for the best places to eat, drink, shop and see. We hope you love our home as much as we doand hope our local friends discover some new gems!

Here's how we recommend you traverse the city during your visit:

WALKING: Our favorite! Walking is undoubtedly the best way to see the city. And it's free!

SUBWAY: Inexpensive and will take you everywhere. Use HopStop to map your route before you leave your hotel or download the app to your phone and consult it while you're out and about.

TAXI: Yellow cabs are plentiful in Manhattan. Just hop in and tell the driver the cross streets for your destination. FYI—center light on means the taxi is available, center light plus side lights on means the taxi is off-duty, and no lights means there's a passenger already in the taxi.

CAR SERVICE: Brooklyn has less yellow cabs roaming the streets, so you might need to call for a ride if car is your chosen mode of transport. We use Northside (718.387.2222) a lot. The Green Building recommends Arecibo (718.783.6465) and Eastern (866.499.7177). The wait is typically five to ten minutes. There will be car service phone numbers posted at The Green Building for you to reference when the wedding is over.
